A Scottish Wedding at Château du Pordor in Brittany, France

For this Scottish wedding in Brittany, France, the couple envisioned an elegant and deeply personal celebration, bringing together Scottish traditions and natural floral design.

A Wedding Ceremony in the Ruined Chapel of Château du Pordor

A Unique Wedding Ceremony Venue in Brittany

At the heart of the estate, the ruined chapel of Château du Pordor offers an extraordinary setting for a wedding ceremony in Brittany. With its ancient stone walls, open views onto the surrounding nature and wonderfully atmospheric sense of history, the chapel creates a setting that feels both raw and poetic.

A Scottish Wedding Ceremony Accompanied by Bagpipes

It was here, within the ruins of the chapel, that the wedding ceremony took place. The couple’s entrance, accompanied by a traditional bagpiper, created one of the defining moments of this Scottish wedding in France.

A Scottish-Inspired Wedding in Brittany

Tartan Details and Scottish Wedding Inspiration

This Château du Pordor wedding drew inspiration from the couple’s Scottish heritage. From tartan ribbons tied around the bridal bouquet and bridesmaids’ bouquets to the groom’s and groomsmen’s outfits, and even tartan berets placed at the centre of the tables, these Scottish details created a subtle visual thread throughout the celebration.

Elegant yet distinctive, the tartan touches brought a strong sense of identity to the wedding without ever overwhelming the overall aesthetic.

A Brittany Wedding Blending Tradition and Modernity

Throughout the celebration, Scottish references were paired with a contemporary aesthetic, creating a wedding in Brittany that felt authentic, warm and refined.

Sustainable Wedding Flowers in Brittany

A Wedding Florist in Brittany: Local, Seasonal Flowers and a Foam-Free Approach

For this Château du Pordor wedding, the floral design was created with a strong focus on sustainability.

As a wedding florist based in Brittany and the Pays de la Loire region, I favour local and seasonal flowers, sourced from French growers whenever possible and designed without floral foam.

For this celebration, the floral palette was deliberately soft and delicate, playing with subtle tonal variations to accompany the day with a natural, poetic feel.

A Destination Wedding Photographer in France

This beautiful wedding was captured by wedding photographer Seán Bell, whose distinctive eye and aesthetic beautifully brought the emotion and atmosphere of the day to life.

This Brittany wedding will soon be featured by Albe Editions, a leading publication in the world of fine art and high-end weddings in France.
